I have always been interested in fitness and have tried many different sports over the
years. I have been training with Emily for 3 years now and have enjoyed every moment!
Pole dancing has not only improved my fitness and body tone, it has also increased my
confidence and self esteem. The wide variety of sports I have tried started with training
as a gymnast for 4 years until I was around 12 years old. This taught me flexibility and
discipline along with learning how to condition my body. I took up High Board diving
whist in high school for a few years before turning to Trapeze at the local circus school.
Trapeze has given me a lot of upper body strength that has helped me in pole dancing as
many of the movements in both are very similar.
Whilst at University I started kickboxing training and continued this throughout the
whole 3 years, managing to reach a brown and white belt. I still train once a week as it
a great way to keep fit. Since moving to Swindon I have become an active member of the gym attending various
classes, as well as training in pole dancing.
In the future I am hoping to enter competitions and attend many more Pole Jams and Master Classes to improve
my skills. I love teaching pole dancing classes, it is very rewarding watching students improve over the weeks
and gain lots of confidence in the mean time. Pole fitness is great fun, a great workout and goes a long way to
increase self esteem as I have seen many times over the years. I knew from my first lesson in pole it was
something I wanted to pursue and I am pleased I have improved enough since I began to become an instructor
for Emily’s Pole Fitness!
Since a young age I have always enjoyed dancing but never thought it would be a path I
would pursue as I got older. I was quite shy and my confidence wasn’t great either! But
when I reached the age of 18 my friend talked me in to going to Jazz classes with him, it
was one of the best things I ever did. For about 2 years I attended Jazz classes and then
discovered pole dancing for fitness. At first I was unsure about it but as soon as I got
started I couldn’t stop! I bought a pole of my own and started to look online and found
that pole dancing for fitness was a huge up and coming way to keep fit. I started to get
in to contact with other pole dancers around the world and learnt so much just by talking
to other pole dancers. Eventually I began to go to pole jams, which
are events where pole dancers meet up, train together and get to
know each other. I have trained with some of the best pole dancers
in the country and have even had the opportunity to have Master
